A bracelet is the piece people buy for someone else, which means most of the decisions are made with incomplete information. These six questions cover almost all of it.
1. Does she wear gold or silver?
Look at what is already on her wrist and in her ears. People rarely mix tones by accident. If you cannot tell, a mixed-tone set sidesteps the question, and so does a natural stone strand, which sits happily beside either.
2. Will it need to survive a shower?
If she is the kind of person who never takes jewelry off, look for stainless steel or a piece whose page explicitly says it is rated for water. Plated pieces that are not rated for water should come off first.
3. Does she have a metal sensitivity?
If you know she reacts to costume jewelry, read the stated materials rather than a marketing word. We list the metals used on every page and we do not label anything hypoallergenic unless the page says so specifically.
4. Loud or quiet?
A 4mm stone line reads very differently from a fine chain with one charm. If you are unsure, quiet wins: a piece she can wear to work gets worn far more often than one she saves for an occasion.
5. Is there a message on it?
Engraved pieces do half the talking when you hand them over, which helps if you would rather not make a speech. They are also harder to re-gift, so they suit close friends and family rather than an office draw.
6. Have you left enough time?
This is the one people get wrong. Our orders ship from our partner warehouse in China: 3 to 5 business days to process and 8 to 12 business days in transit, so 11 to 17 business days in total. Business days exclude weekends and US public holidays, so count backwards from the date you need it and add a buffer. If a birthday is nine days away, this is not the shop for it, and we would rather say so than take the order.
